Process Engineer

Process Engineer TJ10

The position holder will be responsible for planning our clients manufacturing facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations and core processes during both the product development phase and after product has been released to the manufacturing floor.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

Support the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.

Support the design, install and commission of new production units, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.

Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure existing documentation is the current mode of operation.

Troubleshoot existing manufacturing processes for process improvement. Lead the development of solutions and action plans to eliminate special and common causes through root cause analysis.

Participate in Engineering Initiative Reviews for potential impacts on the process.

Responsible to reduce the variation in core production processes while assessing processes for their relevance, and the adequacy of manufacturing equipment.

Work close with Production Operators to monitor and improve the efficiency and output of manufacturing through initiatives in proper technique, tooling and automation whenever possible.

Ensure processes support the optimum level (right rate and quality of output) in order to meet operational needs.

Develop, put in place, and maintain support systems to ensure the stability of production processes and to assess the adequacy of engineering equipment.

Undertake capability studies of the various printhead manufacture, build and assembly processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet required yields and reliability standards

Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of process yield and product reliability. Ensures environmental testing requirements are met by specifying minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.

Develop and document reliability predictions and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA’s) on all printhead manufacturing and assembly processes.

Develop and document safety related analysis, maintenance reports and assist in creating component maintenance manuals for mechanical equipment.

Identify key process parameters such as pressure, flow, temperature, speed/rate, timing, position, stroke of components and their impact on the process. Analyse relationships between input and output variables and identify key tolerances of input variables and key capacity constraints.

Standardise processes and ensure correct up-to-date technical information is readily available.

Assist in transfer technology and training development, delivery, and qualification system from design to the manufacturing floor.

Identify the cost and time constraints of new product development projects. Participate in and provide input during Feasibility and Early Conceptual Phases of initiative/capital project.

Define and provide production throughput and rates to achieve manufacturing standards and production activity.

Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganising work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.

Qualifications
