Recart’s Managing Director and Founder, Lee Bown, won the Entrepreneur of the Year honour at the 2018 Nottingham Post Business Awards on Tuesday night.
The ceremony, held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, featured 40 finalists across 14 categories.
Lee received the business entrepreneur award from its sponsor, Experian.
The success recognises Recart’s value-driven approach to solving critical hiring problems and skills shortage issues.
Educating businesses on the important value of ‘the why’ (motivations, ideologies and character traits) in hiring/recruitment, rather than relying on ‘the how’ and ‘what’ (skills and qualifications), has distinguished our consultative approach in the market.
“We’ve disrupted the traditional recruitment business model and established new, innovative ways of working with new and existing clients,” said Lee, who founded Recart in 2003.
“We’ve redefined how companies recruit by consulting with them to help them establish and understand their ‘why’ – their purpose and core values – rather than just working to their job specifications and focusing on the skills and experience they think they need.
“We then reflect this back, as a clear and compelling branded proposition, for our clients to attract the right people – not just the right skills – for their business.
“This new way of working has now been proven, with our client base now retaining and securing our services for their recruitment needs.
“Our model challenges outdated recruitment practices and is flexible enough to work to our clients’ different recruitment goals, whilst reducing cost, reducing time to hire and increasing the quality and suitability of new hires.”
Last year, Recart won the Excellence in Customer Service accolade at the Nottinghamshire East Midlands Chamber Business Awards.
